Azhagi stands for the meaning of Mr. Viswanathan's life

I tried to type my first Tamil post using the transliteration option available for a blogger, but I was not much happy about it as I could not turn it on or off instantly when I was typing. Then I searched for Tamil typing tips or tricks that could satisfy me. I learned a lot about it during my search but nothing was upto my satisfaction as I could not understood anything completely till I reached www.azhagi.com. Everything about Tamil typing is there.

The software 'Azhagi' has all the things exactly what I wanted. It is extremely user friendly, has 3 different input methods of which one is to do tamil transliterations (phonetic keyboard). For example if we just need to type 'Ammaa' to get 'அம்மா'. We can directly type/transliterate tamil in webpages, mails and all of the windows applications. It can be turned on or off using a single hotkey. It has been years since it was introduced. I might have heard it but now only, being a blogger I got chance to explore it and realize its power.

A great work done by its author Mr. Viswanathan who says that Azhagi - the name symbolizes her wife Mrs. Meera Viswanathan's beautiful heart.

I was inspired by Azhagi's history. I also liked the following quote from that page.

"There never was, there never will be, nor is there now, a person who is wholly blamed or wholly praised."
- Lord Buddha

My Earth Hour

Thanks to WWF for organizing Earth Hour, I got my good own childhood days back.

I didn't have any plans till 7.30pm. Then I rushed my mom and helped her preparing the dinner and by 8.15pm itself we moved with all the things to our terrace. By 8.25pm I switched off all the lights. There is not much moonlight today as it is just the second day after a no moon day. Anyhow it was very interesting to spend that one hour with my mom having dinner and chatting with her. We talked a little about our environment, our mother earth, importance and uses of Earth Hour. Then she told me about her childhood days and how they managed to live without electricity in her native village. Then discussion went around some family issues and other things till 9.45pm.

It remembered my childhood days in our village (during summer holidays) having dinner in the open street under moon (நிலாச்சோறு) with all the family members and neighbours, hearing stories from grandma...

Vote for Earth - Earth Hour 2009

Let's turn off our lights and hold electricity usage from 8.30pm to 9.30 pm tonight (28th March, Saturday) and participate in the Earth Hour 2009 programme - www.earthhour.org / www.earthhour.in

Let's all vote for our earth against climate change and global warming. Our light switch is our vote!

Reasons

We need or search for reasons to do something... what's there for living?... Thought about something odd (or common?) What do I do for my living is a different questions but what are the factors that keep me living/alive? - my breath, heart, lungs, my food, digestive system, immune system etc.... these are all important but as a group, biological factors stand second next only to the emotional factors. I always believe that science or any system at whatever stage cannot beat human emotions in the race.

Human - Homo sapiens - as a species is described as a social animal. (Check out 'Man the social animal') So as a human, as a social animal, I cannot live alone. I depend on some of the fellow humans and mere emotions to keep me running through my life. I would also say emotions are our driving force which comes out of a relationship (whatever it might be)

And now... my driving force comes out of two main groups - my family and friends. I consider only my parents (as I am single yet!) in the family group and few more special people in the friends group. I will talk more about them in the days ahead.

Got the title!

I know very well that my blog is yet to gain it's second reader(s) (!'m the first :) coz.. I am just about to start promoting and invite my favorite faces.

It has been more than 15 days since I wrote my first post. I bet myself not to have such a long gap during the journey ahead. These days I was thinking of a better title for my blog. Finally I got the title during my travel in a local bus. It flashed in my mind when I saw a couple sitting in a seat beside mine. They were enjoying and in the whole bus with more than 30 people comprising of all age groups from both the genders, they two only had smiling faces and enjoyed the travel. Credits also go to some of the little boys and girls in their school uniform who took the bus in the next stop. They confirmed that I have selected the right topic for my blog and it is :

Meaning of life
everyone's life involves a journey towards understanding the meaning of life and the reasons to live

I don't want to take much space to explain my title, as it is familiar to every human being. This will be my personnel blog. Will include incidents, things, places, people... anything and everything (that i want to share) that I come across during my living moments (non-living moments?). I am sure that it will be a mixture of all the values of life.

I was talking about smiling faces and wanted to remember Raji, my friend. I admire at her 'always smiling' attitude. She is the last reason for me to stop just thinking about starting a blog and end up getting into some action.

(PS - I am new to writing and trying to improve at each ground. I will be glad to receive your comments on the content and layout of my blog)
